About me
JoAngeli Zertuche Kasper is in the final year of her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan University, where she is writing her dissertation on helping non-affirming Christian parents become more affirming of their LGBTQ+ children. With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Texas, JoAngeli combines her practical expertise with academic research to explore topics that are close to her heart.
As the Executive Chair of Grayson County Pride, JoAngeli is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, dedicating her efforts to fostering love, support, and inclusion for all. Her research interests include the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, the challenges faced by first-generation Mexican Americans, and the innovative use of solution-focused narrative therapy to strengthen family relationships and promote understanding.
JoAngeli welcomes conversations about LGBTQ+ advocacy, family systems therapy, and faith-based approaches to building affirming relationships. Whether you’re interested in research, clinical practice, or community advocacy, JoAngeli is eager to connect and collaborate on ways to create more inclusive, supportive spaces for all.
