Dr. Merchant is the Program Director and Chair of the Department of Marriage and Family Studies at Abilene Christian University (ACU). She has a PhD in MFT from Texas Tech and an M.MFT from ACU. She also directs a Batterer Intervention and Prevention Program and worked previously as a Victim Advocate.
